December 2004 Edition
TO ALL OF OUR
FRIENDS EVERYWHERE, WE WISH YOU HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
AND WE WISH YOU THE VERY BEST FOR
THE NEW YEAR!
We are pleased to announce
additions to Ultra Tec’s list of Overseas
Representatives: in the UK,
Martin Rogers, of Rochester (Kent) and
in Germany, Greg Linton, whose home base is Kassel.
NOW IS THE TIME
These overseas reps join us
at an interesting time—for their customers, current US Dollar exchange rates
have made purchase of an Ultra Tec quite a bargain.
For example, the Euro, not long ago exchanged at $.95, and today (as I
write this) it stands at $1.33 (!). For
the European buyer, it is like having a 35 percent discount!
Similar situations exist with other currencies, around the World.
you have been thinking about an Ultra Tec, now is the time!
CONGRATULATIONS LINDA! We at Ultra Tec are proud of you!
Tec Representative Linda McMurray of Gobles, Mich., has been selected as
the Gemological Institute of America’s 2005 Outstanding Distance Education
Graduate of the Year.
Presented annually, the award is given to one exceptional GIA Distance
Education student who has achieved extraordinary standards of academic and
Linda, and her husband Ron, previously owned a small Jersey dairy farm. When Ron, became severely ill, Linda, in seeking a career in which she could work independently, decided to return to her love of gems and jewelry. She now owns a successful business, Best Cut Gems ( www.bestcutgems.com ), and teaches gem faceting to clients. Ron has joined her as an enthusiastic Ultra Tec faceter. Linda says that being her own boss and living her passion every day is a dream come true.
NEW ARTICLE BY JIM PERKINS.
Go to the “Library” and click on “Advantages of Having Multiple Index Gears - by Jim Perkins (pdf) ”
Jim, who has
been a prolific designer and writer on faceting topics has again written about a
“real world topic” of interest to faceters.
As usual, Ultra Tec rep Jim Perkins is short and to-the-point.
We thank him for his good work (and we know he’ll keep it up).
So long for now...
